Hello bonjour, I’m Dr Mélanie DesChâtelets ND, a BC based virtual Naturopathic Doctor and founder of PCOS Health Collective. I’m here to be your guide, your strategist, your collaborator.
Since 2010, I’ve been dedicated to transforming the lives of thousands of people as a Naturopathic Doctor. My journey has led me to speak and teach at various stages, sharing my expertise and passion for holistic health care. My mission? To provide compassionate, evidence-based care for people with PCOS.
Research confirms what I’ve observed in my practice: people with PCOS are often dissatisfied with their care, if they’re receiving any at all. Delays in diagnosis are common, and many practitioners fail to follow the best care guidelines. Understanding the complexities of PCOS and the time required for truly patient-centered, evidence-informed care makes it clear why a 7-minute medical visit falls short.
Like many of my patients, my own PCOS was initially dismissed. Weight stigma is pervasive, with larger-bodied individuals being told to simply “eat less and exercise more” and average-sized individuals often going undiagnosed. PCOS impacts the quality of life and carries lifelong risk factors that must be managed proactively and compassionately.
TikTok medicine generally frustrates me due to its polarizing, all-or-nothing advice. You deserve better. You deserve evidence-informed information to make the best choices for your health, free from fearmongering and excessive restrictions.
At my practice, we take the time to truly listen and empower you with the tools to manage PCOS on your terms. Whether you choose to use birth control pills or need alternative support, we honour your personal needs and preferences. Our goal is to create a space for your unique experience.
My BIG vision is to build a comprehensive team supporting people with PCOS across British Columbia and eventually coast to coast in Canada.
